How long are your trips?

• Research trips are usually shorter (2-3 days) and are made up of only a few people.
• Business trips are usually 5-6 days and are made up of 4-5 people whose purpose is to teach at business seminars.
• Outreach trips can be anywhere from 20-30 people and will usually last around 10 days.
• Trips to Morocco usually last 1-2 weeks counting travel time

What’s a business trip and who can go on it?
The purpose of a business trip is to teach at our Business Hope Centers in Thailand. They are comprised of people with a background in anything from marketing, education, management, etc. Our Global Programs and Development team here in Seattle writes curriculum for these business seminars all year round and we take 2-3 business teams each year. Our goal through these business teams is to teach girls coming out of the sex trade vocational and business skills to help them either start a new business or attain a job, as well as teach Thai trainers how to provide one-on-one coaching to these girls year-round.

I am a Physical or Occupational Therapist and want to help. What are these trips like?
If you come with us to Morocco you will be coming with the purpose of working with children at the Miracle Centers and training the trainers who work with these children. A trip to Morocco usually includes flying in to Spain, taking a ferry down to Morocco and then driving in a van through rural towns for 6-12 hours….its definitely a trip for an adventurous person. You will be in towns where there is literally nowhere else for these children to go get help. You will be working with children with everything from mild handicaps to Downs Syndrome. How much does it cost to go on a trip?
It depends on what time of the year you go, but most individuals end up spending around $1,800 – $2,000 and raise that money with the help of their family and friends.

What do you do on an Outreach Trip?
Each outreach trip will be different but they will all include doing “outreach” on Walking Street which is the red-light area of Pattaya. Girls and women are literally lined up in the street waiting for customers to come along, their ages anywhere from 13 to 45. As you walk up and down the street you will be looking for girls to talk to, our team will usually split off into smaller teams of 3-4 people with a translator and will look for girls to take out to dinner and talk to. Our goal is always to rescue as many people as possible on each outreach trip but there’s often a long process for a girl to leave the bars and start a new life. Assuming that you are someone with a passion to make a difference then quite simply you need to go on one of these trips because it will change your life. Reading about a heartbreaking cause such as trafficking is one thing, hugging a broken 14-yr. old girl who has been repeatedly raped every night for the last 4 months is another.
